Our client, St. Mary Medical Center, hosted “Man Up for Men’s Health” at the Newtown Theater on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. The objective of this event was to draw attention and prospective patients for the hospital’s urology center.
St. Mary Medical Center is the most comprehensive medical center and only trauma center in Bucks County, with a staff consisting of highly skilled physicians, dedicated colleagues, and committed volunteers. With its compassionate physicians and clinical professionals, along with state-of-the-art technology, St. Mary provides advanced care for complex cases.
The challenge was to attract men age 50 and above to an informative and educational program that provided valuable information on the warning signs, symptoms, and treatment options for various urologic health conditions. We also wanted to stress the importance of staying on top of your health and the advantage of early detection.
Our strategy was to create a fun and non-threatening “date night” opportunity that was a draw for both men and woman (a family’s key healthcare decision makers).
More than 100 people enjoyed “butlered” comfort foods while they met former Philadelphia Eagle Vince Papale, his wife, Janet, and several doctors from the St. Mary Urology Department. The Papales, Dr. Jamison Jaffe, and Jeanette Bernacki, Urology Service-line Coordinator, spoke about the importance of men’s health before introducing the main feature, “Invincible,” a Disney film about Papale’s improbable tenure with the Eagles. Appropriate literature, freshly popped popcorn and bottles of water, both branded with the event name and the St. Mary Urology logo, were given to guests, along with small footballs and Papale photographs. Papale also signed autographs and posed for pictures with attendees.
